Two superb days in Nottingham

Over two days in May, 17 Society members enjoyed two excellent matches in Nottinghamshire. Our hosts at Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club were as hospitable as ever and even included one of our own in their ranks, former England opener Chris Broad turning out for the opposition. The match see-sawed over 6 matches of 4 Ball Better Ball with the eventual result a halved match at 3 all.

The following day 14 players took on the members of Worksop Golf Club, home of current Society Captain Roy Dexter. This is a team stableford competition, played in pairs, and it is to fair to say that the Society came a distant second to our gracious and generous hosts, meaning that Roy had to present the trophy back to Worksop for the third successive year.

The following players represented the Society on one of both of the days: Roy Dexter, Darren Bicknell, Tim Robinson, Chris Goldie, Greg Thomas, Guy McDonnell, Nigel Cowley, Kevin Evans, George Sharp, Adrian Pierson, Barry Dudleston, Jon Hardy, Bill Merry, Paul Johnson, Simon Robinson and current Notts player, Lyndon James.
