It was a beautiful sunny but cold windy day at The Berkshire as a dozen members of the CCGS took on the Men of the Berkshire for a day of Greensomes and Foursomes. Fair to say that the morning on the Blue Course did not go our way - 5/1 to the home side as a magnificent lunch was enjoyed. The afternoon, on the Red, was more successful with honours even at 2 and a half each. The sharp eyed among you will notice that this equals 5 matches. Apparently a couple of "injuries" reducing the match numbers. The cynics amongst you might suppose that the excellence of the lunch might also have been a factor.
As always, we enjoyed fantastic hospitality from the Berkshire members and next year's fixture is already in the diary. - April 2nd 2023. This will maintain our proud record of being the Berkshire's oldest contiuous match fixture dating back to 1936 with only the war years offering a break.
The Society team was Bryan Richardson, John Shepherd, Jon Hardy, Neil Burn, Tony Pigott, Bill Merry, Tim Wren, a very welcome new member in Josh Poysden, Richard Baker, Guy McDonnell, Stuart Waterton and the inimitable Wayne Osman.
