Wednesday 23rd October was a perfect day for a visit to West Sussex (Pulborough), one of the finest courses in the South of England. The format of our annual fixture with West Sussex Ladies is 36 holes of foursomes and, in the morning, the CCGS team (playing off yellow tees) took full advantage of the calm conditions to move into a 3-1 lead. Following some tough negotiations over the excellent West Sussex lunch, CCGS was required to play off the white tees in the afternoon but, undaunted, the team maintained the morning’s momentum to record an overall victory by 5 ½ to 2 ½.
As always at West Sussex, the hospitality afforded to the CCGS team (Richard Baker, Neil Burns, Jon Hardy, Guy McDonnell, Ted Rose, Charlie Rowe, Tim Tremlett and Tim Wren) was superb and we look forward very much to returning next year.
