Two days of fun in Nottinghamshire

The Society's annual trip to Worksop and Ratcliffe Upon Trent was, as always, a delight with 18 Society members participating across the two days, including some who were playing for the first time.

On Thursday we visited Worksop, a superb course in fantastic condition. We were missing our Match Manager, Roy Dexter, who was supplementing his Teacher's pension by invigilating exams at Cambridge but Trevor Tunnicliffe took over the reins. Worksop once again won the match which is decided on an aggregate of Stableford points. As always, the welcome that we received from the Worksop members was exceptional and our thanks go to them all for a memorable day.

The team for Worksop was Trevor Tunnicliffe, Neil Burns, George Sharp, Barry Dudleston, Chris Goldie, Darren Bicknell, Bill Merry, Stuart Waterton, Adrian Pierson, Guy McDonnell, Steve "Piggy' Malone, Nigel Illingworth, Chris Curzon and Kevin Evans.

On Friday we visited Ratcliffe Upon Trent under the leadership of Darren Bicknell, a recent Captain of the club. This time we were triumphant by a margin of 4/2. It was great to see a number of Notts stalwarts on our side, including Alex Hales and Dan Christian of the modern age, as well as Paul Johnson, Darren himself, Steve Randall and Kevin Evans. The course was in excellent condition, the rain largely held off and the hospitality was fantastic.

Along with the Notts contigent, our team included George Sharp, Barry Dudleston, Neil Burns, Guy McDonnell, Chris Goldie and Adrian Pearson.
