September and October are the Society's busiest months with plenty of fantastic fixtures across the county. Thus far, the weather has not been as kind as we might have liked but only one fixture has been lost to the weather (Stoneham) as the Society's golfers have been enjoying some superb hospitality and magnificent courses.
Our visit to Royal Worlington resulted in a good win for Iain Fletcher's team and this was followed up with victory at Worplesdon. The wind and rain at Royal Porthcawl were hugely influential but the Welsh welcome was as good as ever. At Denham, we were all square at lunchtime but our hosts performed superbly after the magnificent Denham lunch to take the honours overall. Our hosts were also the victors at Ashridge by a margin of 3 and a half to 2 a half. However, given that one of their victories was thanks to a superb performance from Harry Latchman we could claim a moral victory! We won't of course as the result is secondary to what was yet another great day out.
This week, we send two sides out on the same day. One to Royal Ashdown Forest, the other to the Notts Gold Club at Hollinwell. On Saturday we visit West Hill. On Monday 14th we go to Worcester and on Tuesday 15th its time for the Autumn meeting at Denham. Its a busy time for the Society!
