Our annual visit to face the Ladies of Royal Ashdown Forest was, as always, an absolute delight. The forecast rain held off, the course was in wonderful condition and the welcome from the Ladies as warm and friendly as always.
Our very own Ted Rose is now the President of Royal Ashdown Golf Club and found himself surplus to our requirements but needed by the Ladies who lost a player at the last minute due to Covid. All matches were evenly contested but the Society prevailed by the margin of 3.5 to 2.5.
We too had suffered from a couple of medical withdrawals but were delighted to welcome Gladstone Small and man of the moment, Ben Compton, to our side of 12. The remainder of the team was Chris Goldie, Neil Burns, Tony Pigott, Jon Hardy, Melville Guest, Charlie Rowe, Paul Parker and two guest players - Mark Roberts and Laurie Allan.
We look forward already to our return in 2023 with the series now standing at 3 all!
