We have enjoyed 4 fantastic matches over the last couple of months as the Society's season gets fully back underway. On Thursday 24th June, Paul Romaines took a side to take on Bristol & Clifton. Despite a couple of late drop-outs, Paul pulled together a great team but the hosts were too strong and we lost b7 4.5 to 1.5.
The next day Ian Cockbain took a side to take on Formby Golf Club and again we came up short, losing 4-2 (3 defeats, 1 win and 2 halfs). However, by all accounts, the Society comfortably won the evening's drinking contest!
A week later, Barry Dudleston pulled sides together for matches at Northampton and the Leicestershire. Honours were even at Northampton - 2 wins, 2 defeats and 2 halfs - but we narrowly lost at the Leceistershire 3.5 to 2.5.
All four matches were hugely enjoyable and saw a great number of our members turning out. Our thanks as always to our hosts and to our own members for making the effort. Next we head off to Worcester Golf and Country Club under the leadership of Nigel Cowley on Friday 9th July.
Its great to be properly back underway!
